Carrier

What is a Carrier in Shipping & Logistics?

A carrier is the company or entity responsible for transporting goods from one point to another within the supply chain. The carrier is responsible for moving beverages by land, sea, or air. This occurs in two ways: common carrier and contract carrier. A common carrier provides transport to any shipper. A contract carrier only provides carrier services to one shipper for the duration of their contract. The carrier will safely deliver products while maintaining quality and temperature control. They will manage the logistics of handling freight to ensure the timely, efficient movement of beverages worldwide.
