Warehouse / Warehousing

What Is Warehousing?

A warehouse is a storage facility used to house goods before distribution, while warehousing refers to the processes involved in managing inventory within these facilities. Warehousing in logistics and supply chain management refers to processes like receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping. Efficient supply chain warehousing helps businesses streamline operations, reduce storage costs, and improve order fulfillment by ensuring products are stored safely and are readily available for transport. In beverage logistics, warehousing is essential for maintaining the quality of temperature-sensitive goods like beer, wine, and kombucha before shipping. Simply put, a warehouse means a central hub in the supply chain, while warehousing supports product availability, scalability, and delivery speed.
