CRD stands for Cargo Ready Date, the date when a cargo is fully prepared, packed, and ready to be picked up by the carrier. It’s provided by the customer at the time they schedule a freight, although it can change if goods are prepared earlier or later than originally scheduled.
In logistics, both suppliers and logistics providers use CRD to coordinate and schedule freight movements from designated locations. For example, when customers book a Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) shipping, carriers reference the CRD to consolidate palletized goods with others on a shared truck. They set clear expectations for when orders will enter the delivery stream and ultimately reach customers.
