Zone Skipping

What Is Zone Skipping?

Zone skipping is a shipping logistics strategy that gets parcels to their destination faster. Multiple packages going to the same relative area are shipped in bulk to bring them closer to their destination with fewer stops. This bypasses intermediate shipping zones. After zone skipping, a bulk shipment will land at a closer distribution center and then be handed off to a last-mile carrier or local courier. This is an innovative strategy in the beverage industry as it accommodates perishable or time-sensitive products, high-volume shipments, and high demand. When used correctly, zone skipping is also cost-effective.
